
Molly Gordon, LPC (she/her)
Molly Gordon is a Licensed Professional Counselor with many years of experience working within diverse mental health settings. She specializes in supporting children, teenagers, and their families to accept, understand and overcome challenges related to ADHD, anxiety, depression, and mood and trauma disorders. Molly also has experience working with autistic children, teenagers, and young adults.
Molly uses evidence-based theories such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Play and Art Therapy. Molly teaches parents effective ways to use praise and reward to encourage children to use the new skills she teaches in therapy. Molly encourages a collaborative approach to therapy by establishing attainable and realistic goals with her clients and their families. She helps her clients build upon their strengths to improve their everyday functioning and lifestyle across school, home, and community environments. Molly encourages identification and rehearsal of coping skills, emotional regulation, and connection between thoughts and actions to promote success for all of her clients.
Molly’s friendly and warm personality, along with her sense of humor, helps to build a welcoming and trusting therapeutic relationship and environment with all her clients. When she is not in her office at work, Molly enjoys spending time with her two cats and thrifting.
Molly completed her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood and Special Education at Slippery Rock University before earning an MS in Counseling Psychology from Chatham University. Her background in teaching, paired with her clinical experience in the mental health field, brings a dynamic experience to her therapy approach.
