Josh Schmader is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 7 years of experience. He provides neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ affirming care, specializing in working with teens, young adults, college students, adults, men’s issues across the lifespan, and couples therapy.
Josh’s foundational training is in humanistic existentialism, focusing on meaning and values that bring fulfillment to his clients. With this foundation, Josh uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to identify barriers to a more present and value-based life. Additionally, he specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques. All of Josh’s approaches are evidence-based.
Josh believes in a truly collaborative approach where clients set the goals for their own growth. While the client chooses what they want to change, Josh supports the journey with curiosity, gentleness, and occasional well-placed humor. Blending this approachable style with his clinical expertise, Josh equips clients with the skills they need to succeed on their terms.
