Jon Punzi, MD (he/him)

Dr. Jon Punzi is a Board Certified Psychiatrist (MD), in both Psychiatry and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry. This subspecialty focuses on how other medical conditions may influence psychiatric symptoms, which makes Dr. Punzi especially able to offer accurate diagnosis and to help individuals who struggle with chronic medical conditions.

Patients working with Dr. Punzi will find him to be personable and approachable. He takes the time to get to know his patients, to understand their unique needs and experiences, and to work with them to create an effective treatment plan . He is a firm believer in interprofessional collaboration, and prefers to work closely with therapists and other providers to ensure both pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic needs are met.

Dr. Punzi works with individuals age 16 years and up, with a wide range of diagnoses including but not limited to ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, OCD-spectrum disorders, trauma-related disorders, neurodevelopmental and neurocognitive disorders. Dr. Punzi is proud to create a safe space for everyone, regardless of race, disability, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

Dr. Punzi graduated Magna Cum Laude from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2013. He received his MD from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2017. He graduated from his psychiatry residency at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2021, followed by his consultation-liaison psychiatry fellowship at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 2022.
